Player, Parent and Spectator Code of Conduct

PLAYER CODE

  1. Play for fun, not just to please your parents or coach.
  2. Play by the rules.
  3. Never argue with the officials: Let your coach ask the questions.
  4. Control your temper. Don't mouth off, slam sticks or throw equipment.
  5. Work equally hard for yourself and your team - Everyone will benefit.
  6. Cheer all good plays, whether by your team or your opponent.
  7. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
  8. Play for fun and to improve your skills. Don't be a show-off and always try for the most points or penalties.
  9. Congratulate your coach, your team and your opponents. Without them, you don't have a game.

PARENT & SPECTATOR CODE

  1. Remember: Children play sports for their enjoyment, not yours. They are not professional athletes.
  2. Encourage your child to play by the rules.
  3. Teach your child that an honest effort is more important than victory. This ensures any game result is accepted without disappointment.
  4. Help your child work towards skill development and good sportsmanship.
  5. Never ridicule or yell at any child for making a mistake or losing a game.
  6. Children learn best by example. Don't embarrass your child by behaving improperly in the arena.
  7. Applaud all good plays by both teams.
  8. Do not yell at the officials or question their judgment and integrity.
  9. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from the game.
  10. Recognize the value and importance of all volunteers. Remember: It is their time & resources that provide hockey for your child.

ARENA RULES

  1. Do not run or play games in the lobby or the corridors.
  2. Shooting balls or pucks in hallways or change rooms is not permitted.
  3. Do not stand, walk or jump on arena seats.
  4. Do not climb onto, sit, stand or walk on the ledge beneath the large windows on the upper deck.
  5. No one is permitted on the south side of the arena past the office unless you are a coach or game official.
  6. Do not damage the arena or its fixtures. Anyone causing damage will be held responsible and suspended and/or prohibited from entering the arena.
  7. DO NOT BRING FOOD OR DRINK FROM OUTSIDE THE ARENA.
  8. Do not leave equipment bags in the lobby. The Association is not responsible for lost equipment. Each player's equipment should be readily identifiable.
  9. SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED ANYWHERE INSIDE THE ARENA.
  10. No animals or pets.

Anyone who disobeys arena rules or defaces arena property will be ejected from the arena by the Arena management and if applicable the offending players may be subject to suspension.
